A new year has started and today I found myself thinking back on all of the resolutions that I have made in years past and how mixed my success in keeping them has sometimes been. I came across an article that made me realize how important it is to rely more on God’s help in maintaining my resolutions. As I go forth into a new year I resolve to rely more on the Lord and the guidance provided by His Word in maintaining the positive changes I humbly hope to make in my own life. I wish anyone who might come across my humble corner of the web a very happy and blessed new year!

Why I Don’t Worry About the Pledge of Allegiance
Apparently there was a rather minor uproar this past weekend concerning the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance. It came about when NBC aired a short video featuring school children reciting the pledge as part of the opening for the US Open Golf Championship.
Not surprisingly, many viewers reacted with anger over the omission of the phrase that has been a part of the pledge since it was added 1954 during the Cold War. It never fails to amaze me how angry many conservatives become when whenever something like this occurs. I think that if many of them took the time to study the history of the pledge of allegiance they might feel very differently about the entire matter.
The original pledge was written by Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister and Christian socialist, who hoped to instill in newly arrived immigrants to America a greater sense of loyalty and nationalism. The original pledge was accompanied by the “Bellamy Salute” which is creepily similiar to another rather infamous salute. The envy upon which socialism is based is in violation of the 10th Commandment:
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:17

Obama greater than Jesus!
Yes, that’s right. According to an editorial in a Danish newspaper, Obama has been declared greater than Jesus! With the Western world ever turning away from its Christian heritage and it’s hope and trust in the God of the Bible, and looking to the demonically inspired nation-state as provider and savior, this sort of horrendous blasphemy is becoming all too common. The ultimate hope of freedom, prosperity and security is not to be found in any earthly government or ruler! No king, president, dictator, or bureaucrat under the godless, humanistic, violent, vengeful, governments that dominate much of the world today can provide the salvation and prosperity that can only be found in submission to the word of God and King Jesus!
An editorial in a Danish newspaper, citing both foreign and domestic policies pursued by President Barack Obama, is deifying the American political leader.
“Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus – if we have to play that absurd Christmas game,” opined the unsigned editorial yesterday in Politiken, which boasts of being Denmark’s largest newspaper, in publication since 1884.

3) Warmer periods of the Earth’s history came around 800 years before rises in CO2 levels.
4) After World War II, there was a huge surge in recorded CO2 emissions but global temperatures fell for four decades after 1940.
5) Throughout the Earth’s history, temperatures have often been warmer than now and CO2 levels have often been higher – more than ten times as high.

7) The 0.7C increase in the average global temperature over the last hundred years is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term, natural climate trends.
